The Restore Hope Mission is a non-denominational community organisation with charitable status (Registered Charity No. 1096179). The aim of the charity in the U.K. is to support asylum seekers and refugees settling in the UK in proactively developing forms of self-help in their communities. It is also involved with projects in several different African countries. Formed in 1999 through an initial meeting between Bazikisa Ndongala-Ket and Dr Rachel Newton Tribe, then caseworker at the Medical Foundation, the Mission is now based in London.
The Mission has a simple purpose - to relieve poverty, hardship and distress, by providing a range of free, impartial and confidential services for interpreting and translating, advocacy, counseling, and other services specifically related to the cultural background of asylum seekers and refugees. It’s aim is also through the provision of medical, educational and entrepreneurial assistance and micro-lending to improve the standards of living of the poorest people in Africa.
The Restore Hope Mission also on provides on-going information, advice, guidance and support to prospective UK residents from Africa in their aim to become fully integrated in UK society. We have a vision - to create a peaceful and loving environment/community where all mankind can live a free and fruitful future according to the Christian principles and values but applied within a non-denominational context.
