Activities in Gambia

Restore Hope Mission is at present running several projects in The Gambia, with an emphasis on sustainability and education. We look for projects where we can provide some startup capital and some advice and assistance but the project can then self-sustain on the basis of profits it produces.

Internet Centre - Bakau Lower Basic School - Bakau Gambia

New Roof for the Internet Block

RHM  in conjunction with Interactive Ideas London and Gambian Enterprise have modernised the internet centre at Bakau Lower Basic School. We re-roofed the original and put down a tiled floor to reduce dust. In addition, we used local craftsment to build 14 workstation locations and have shipped out 10 new PC's and a server and paid for internet connectivity. During school hours the centre will be used for the benefit of the pupils, but out of hours it fund itself by trading as an internet cafe and provide low cost adult computer literacy classes.
