Activities in Liberia
Like DRC, Liberia was torn apart by civil war for many years. There is now a UN peace-keeping force and the country has been peaceful for several years. The need is now to re-build both the economy and civil society.
RHM have a permanent worker representative in Liberia (Henrietta Kao Washington) and at present are constructing a house to and offices for the charity. We have provided some medical and educational assistancens and are establishing a micro-loan fund to assist the establishment of small businesses in a country with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world.
